The Federation supported the public consultation of the “Review of the Hotel and Guesthouse Accommodation Ordinance” from the Government (Home Affairs Department). It was a proposal to stop issuing guesthouse licenses in residential buildings where deeds of mutual covenant do not permit either commercial activities or temporary accommodation. As a result of the loophole in the law before proposal, the government has no power to reject license applications which operated in residential buildings.
